What are you doing today to make sure you are breathing in good quality air? One aspect is to see what indoor plants to have in your living and working spaces. I found out that these plants help with taking out toxic chemicals from the air: peace lily (also removes mould spores!), spider plant and African violets! I'm part of my local climate action group and we held an air quality awareness morning in our town talking about engine idling, importance of trees and we also had a live tree recognition quiz! Would you be able to recognise these native trees? Field maple, oak, sycamore, ash, hazel, alder, birch, hawthorn, horse chestnut? #cleanairday #climateaction #climateemergency #freshair #airpollution #cleanair

What's your view on switching to more green products? Is it an easy choice for you? Or, what's holding you back? I made a choice over night to stop using most of the products in my home once I realised what was in them... a bit drastic and I needed to re-introduce some as my children were complaining. They weren't doing that much of the cleaning then so it was easy for me to replace those products with my own ones and slowly I developed alternative personal care products. It was great fun making toothpaste!

My first tip is don't spray cleaning liquids into the air or directly onto a surface unless it's an inaccessible place. Reason being is that you breath in the air and so the suspended droplets will enter your lungs. I found a longitudinal study carried out by European Commission looking at people using cleaning products, over ten years, that showed even using a spray cleaner once a week was detrimental to the functioning of our lungs over time.
